Rise In Number Of Properties For Sale Bought In October

The number of properties for sale snapped up in October increased in the majority of regions across the UK.

According to the latest Agency Express Property Activity Index, seven out of 12 regions saw a rise, with London experiencing the biggest increase.

The capital experienced a 29.4 per cent increase on September, followed by 28.8 per cent in the West Midlands, while overall sales were up 2.8 per cent.

Looking at individual cities, more than half of the 22 monitored saw a boost in the number of houses sold, while Milton Keynes saw a huge rise of 39.3 per cent and Bristol experienced a 35.8 per cent boost.

Eight out of the 12 regions also saw a rise in the number of properties for sale.

Stephen Watson, managing director of Agency Express, which manages For Sale boards, said: "Our October Index is evidence that the current ingredients of low interest rates and the low supply of well presented, realistically priced properties, can be a real recipe for success."
